I believe in what this guy says. 50% of our power is renewables so EV’s are polluting. We have a bio mass power station in our area. Wood chippings are shipped from Canada to it. I think you need to do more research. Save the planet? All the plastic dumped into the oceans is worse than burning fossil fuels. The oceans clean the air more than the rain forests.

It's great that you're environmentally concerned but you could try a bit more rational joined up thought, to enhance effectiveness.

Yes that plastic being there
is terrible, and shouldn't happen, but climate change driven by burning fossil fuels is changing weather patterns and creating disruption that is already making parts of the globe nigh on unlivable, and destroying habitats for whole species.
The plastic in the ocean doesn't affect its ability to absorb CO 2. It has other terrible effects on many things yes.
As for EVs , for sure they're not a perfect solution, we need to drive less as a whole wherever the energy comes from, use more public transport, car pool, cycle etc.
Not necessarily expect to have our own private car, and not just scrap older cars and purchase a new electric car as if that's the 'greener' thing to do, when so much embodied energy is in the car manufacturing itself.
But there will still be a need for some individual vehicles for deliveries, tradespeople, people with disabilities etc.
We do need to transition faster to a much lower carbon way of living for sure, conserve resources, and better take up the options for carbon sequestration, such as looking after our soils, appropriate tree planting peatlands and sea grass, esturine mud banks and so on.
