The other thing that suddenly comes back to me (I muse on things in the woods, then forget them) is the way Trump is not actually trying to achieve the status enjoyed by kings. No, sod that. He's going all out for the status of a pre-Magna Carta king - ie, a king from the days when a king was a real king and got to do exactly what he wanted with no interference from spoilsports of any description.

If only he'd lead his country into battle like a proper king used to.

Apparently he also updated what is seen in the US as a fairly racist joke.

Something along the lines of "when they shot at me they shouted 'get down' so Nikki Minaj started twerking"
Apparently this was originally about black soldiers during the Viet Nam war and wasn't seen as a particularly positive joke...

For me it's the contrast between Obama and Trump that really triggers me. Biden is a kind family man, perhaps outdone by Obama's charisma.

I think it's a mixture of psychopathy plus compensating for not being clever. He can't beat other people with intellect, so insults and verbal aggression are all he's got.
