I can't see it "holding". Open to challenge in the Venezuelan courts or to being overturned by a subsequent Government as the Venezuelan Constitution reserves the oil industry for the State (along with other strategic industries). There are joint venture structures that could be setup and comply with the constitution but I wonder if they would give the US investors adequate confidence to pour loads of money in, particularly given the history and subsequent US Presidents might think even a bit before sending in yhe military (to anywhere).

And the Venezuelan puppet Government can't change a constitution on a whim to make Trûmp happy.

This might be something to jog the opinions of the right in this country, you know the type, love a bit of war and flag waving. If Farage/Lowe don't back Britain on this, it could massively erode their support.
