I find it odd that the military is playing along with Trump, given that they all swore an oath to the Constitution, not Trump.

I don't. History shows that the military tends to side with the totalitarians.

The thing is that the constitution only means what those with power want it to mean. The NRA has refashioned the right to bear arms to its own ends. Trump and his backers are attempting a more radical revision, to render Congress and the Senate irrelevant, and restrict voting rights.

After encouraging folk onto the streets, then denying there was any trouble, 'maybe some residents having fun watching burning cars'

We don't need the National guard-it's all Trumps fault

To

introducing a curfew, all those out will be arrested

Any vandalism shop lifting will result in arrest and prosecution

So you actually needed President to send in National Guard and marines

Well, so it would seem. So much for the 'originalists' who up till now seemed to want to take each word & Article absolutely literally, but now seem to think it's just random words each with elastic meaning.

Can’t help thinking that a few rational people in the Pentagon are quite uncomfortable with the situation. The military will have it’s fair share of ‘imigrunts’ after all. 🤔

Silly me, they’ve all been sacked and replaced with toadies.

A good 12 minutes spent. As they say ‘watch til the end’….

My concern for US citizens is that those standing for office love power, more power the better. So even if next time round saner heads get elected I won't be surprised if they look to retain the power Trump is moving to the Presidential office. They might be critical now but once "in the chair" they probably won't be relinquishing that power.

Few days left before Tic-Tok gets ... who knows what. Trump's latest 75 day delay runs out on Wed so will he chicken out again? (He seems good at chickening out, particularly when his approval is so low and he's needing to do something unpopular).
