I don't think Trump can conceive of not being POTUS now with all the power and protection that gives him, and that feeds his rampant narcissism. If he doesn't manage to subvert the unequivocal part of the constitution that limits any POTUS to two terms, or that mandates state-managed elections (both big 'ifs'), the sight of him as a blabbering ex-POTUS tilting and screaming at windmills is going to be delightful.

If he did stand for the third term, the best trolling ever would be Obama standing against him.

Not if this sticks. When the MAGA base (you have to remember that they are predominantly 'Christian and paedophilia is abhorrent to them) become completely disillusioned, the Trump name will be dirt.
The fact that their standards of living and job prospects are diminishing whilst Trump has amassed billions, is a reality that cannot be propagandised away.
