He’s signed an executive order to close down the Department of Education.
All legal experts say he doesn’t have the authority to do that without a super majority in the Senate.
Pretty much straight out of Project 2025. Defund or at best destabilise the DoE and provide funds direct to States.
Would it surprise anyone if the funds were not determined by population or levels of (lack of) attainment, but by the extent to which the States or their electorates were supporters of the orange rapist?

It's like Project 2025 is Mein Kampf.

Joseph Digenova's social security number are released along with 200 others accidently.
Digenova is was one of Trumps most vocal supporters and former lawyer.

There is a quote from him in the New York Post referencing his own doxxing. "There are dangerous nuts out there."
No shoot Sherlock.
More concerning is that it is being reported officials knew that the documents publication without redactions would lead to personal information being revealed.

Yes and according to MSNBC, he's already received death threats because it' not only social security numbers, it's lots of personal details alongside.
Diddums eh.
In a sort of irony, the fact is, there are dangerous nuts in there.

I was just reflecting how desperately sad it is that Trump has torched the relationship with Europe so comprehensively. There is a commemorative plaque in my local town in France where the Americans arrived as saviours in August 1944, just one month after the Germans had inflicted barbarous retribution on the Vercors Plateau. That event was celebrated on its 80th anniversary just a few months ago: the collective memory of the gratefulness still lingers, and much US memorabilia was evident. I really doubt if that would happen under the present climate, so comprehensively has Trump and his cult poisoned the atmosphere.

I suspect that it's long term damage whoever follows Trump. Trust has been broken which has highlighted the unreliability of the US.

It's not just the relationship with Europe. Consider Canada that has a Free Trade deal with the US until at no notice ... they didn't. Even if UK manages to negotiate a Free Trade deal with the US, UK companies could never rely on it as suddenly with goods in transit to US customers that deal could be torn-up leaving UK business in trouble. Free Trade deal might outlast this Trump term but who is to say who comes next, or the term after that ...

That has been the reality of dealing with the US for most of the world since forever. We never thought it would happen to us, though.

but have they played this crazy hokey-cokey with tariffs before??

Sure but the loyal Trump support has been sold the idea that through tariffs, they were getting robbed.
They will get robbed when they have pay more for goods for no other reason than Der Trumpfen's obsession and clear lack of understanding of basic economics. What the hell sort of advice is his backroom giving him!?

Add bigger tariffs = add cost of things Dougal. Next week: little cows and big cows.

I do admire Carney and the Canadians for their resolve and consistency.
