Paramount had an open and shut case regarding the 60 minutes lawsuit, and yet they folded. We don't live in normal times.

When the Federal Government controls licensing, and the licensing bodies have been stuffed with Trump appointees, the extortion is easy, especially when Mike Johnson has effectively mothballed Congress indefinitely and handed over his authority to his master while Mad King Donald does what he pleases.

Missed this earlier. The intent is clear: an 'Enabling Act' that takes all effective power away from Congress and gives Trump the power to do as he pleases, which makes Johnson's mothballing Congress make even more sense. They've obviously been reading the (German) manual.

IIRC, Paramount has deals going through requiring approval at or near that time, that's what influenced the decision.

And the pharmaceutical company requires supervision and approvals from the FDA, which is ultimately controlled by RFK and Trump. We.Don't.Live,In.Normal.Times.

Donnie learned in his first term how to break the system in his second. The first move was to remove all the checks and balances, or stack the decks at least.
The US has effectively become a dictatorship. We all know it. When will the US wake up?

This could get interesting...

"Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the makers of Tylenol, claiming the companies hid alleged dangers that the drug posed to children's brain development.
The lawsuit comes a month after President Donald Trump promoted an unproven link between taking Tylenol - also known as paracetamol - during pregnancy and autism in children."

This would be the same Ken Paxton who was a 2020 election denier and whose impeachment for corruption was quashed by the hard right of the Texas Congress.

Well, it's a start, even if it's only because they think their coffee has got too pricey.

What I missed here is that this needs to go through Congress, as only they have the 'power of the purse' (as long as Trump lets them). So it's probably a way for the less crazy Republican senators to pretend they are pushing back for the sake of their re-election prospects.

Donald Trump Confuses Dementia Screening for 'Very Hard' IQ Test as He Brags About Results

https://people.com/donald-trump-mistakes-dementia-screening-for-iq-test-11837935
Shows how he just doesn't understand this stuff (is not very clever). Tere can be no such thing as a "very hard IQ test". It's a measure of IQ so hard questions on a particular test just means for a given IQ you need fewer correct answers.

And as others have said, dementia testing is completely different from IQ testing.

He was probably told the nature of the test and 5 mins laster had forgotten what he was told ...

Or maybe they told him it was an IQ test so that he wouldn't throw ketchup at them. I very much doubt that anyone would have the courage to tell him that they were monitoring the progress of his dementia.
