Not sure where I want to start in response to that bile.
They're scrapping jury trials for less serious cases as there is a huge back log. Whether this is a solution or not is arguable but at least the intent is to shorten the time taken for cases to go to court.
The intention is not malicious and in no way can be compared to taking out boats without evidence, in international waters and in contravention of international rules of engagement then shooting survivors in the water after the boat as been immobilised. These boats can be followed and if they reach US waters, can be apprehended. The Trump administration want to look tough and that's it. There is no justification for their actions. This is not a credible path to reducing narcotics entering the US.
...and as C R had posted, simultaneously, Trump pardons a man who was complicit in smuggling in hundreds of tons of cocaine. The intention behind bombing boats is political gesturing; a smokescreen for the inherent hypocrisy and corruption. Meanwhile, innocents get murdered in a Trump PR game.
How you can make the comparison, I have no idea.
