Justifying Kegbreath's execution of orders which are a breach of international rules and the Geneva convention in international waters with a poor and tenuous comparison to the UK.
How quaint.

I bet you weren't happy with Somali gun boats attacking tankers in the gulf of Aden being destroyed by heavy artillery

Not justifying anything, just a gentle reminder that there are people closer to home who you might want to be angry with as well as Donny xx

Ooh you’re so right….

Not sure where I want to start in response to that bile.
They're scrapping jury trials for less serious cases as there is a huge back log. Whether this is a solution or not is arguable but at least the intent is to shorten the time taken for cases to go to court.
The intention is not malicious and in no way can be compared to taking out boats without evidence, in international waters and in contravention of international rules of engagement then shooting survivors in the water after the boat as been immobilised. These boats can be followed and if they reach US waters, can be apprehended. The Trump administration want to look tough and that's it. There is no justification for their actions. This is not a credible path to reducing narcotics entering the US.
...and as C R had posted, simultaneously, Trump pardons a man who was complicit in smuggling in hundreds of tons of cocaine. The intention behind bombing boats is political gesturing; a smokescreen for the inherent hypocrisy and corruption. Meanwhile, innocents get murdered in a Trump PR game.
How you can make the comparison, I have no idea.

It also overlooks the angry response on here to the ridiculous jailing of old people holding bits of cardboard with the words 'Palestinian Action' on them - the forum isn't exactly giving Starmer's government a free pass. I'm pretty sure that if Starmer announced that he was sending the army into a city to directly target a particular black nationality for deportation, and called them 'garbage' (as Trump has done with Somalis in Minnesota), we'd be getting pretty exercised.

DC shooter was trained by the CIA in Afghanistan at the age of 15.

The backdrop to their activities working alongside paedophile warlords is truly horrific. With stories of US soldier whistle blowers saying that they had witnessed things like a child chained to a bed were told to shut up and some of them dishonourably dismissed if they spoke out.
We must not forget that there were years of condemnation of US foreign policy and the interference of foreign governments as well as assassinations of significant individuals way before Trumpism.

Meh, this is the person who claimed we were living in a police state under the Tories due to Covid lockdowns and that he had no voice. What do you expect?

If we set aside your trivialising of what is a seismic constitutional issue that wasn't in their manifesto, what has it got to do with Trump bombing boats? You posted a picture and invited people to put a caption under it. So I did. It was an attempt at satirising your apparent obsession with the US presidents unconstitutional and authoritarian actions whilst failing to comment much about the stripping of your rights by your own government. Not sure why you'd consider a pretty tame attempt at humour as bile but I need to keep reminding myself this is NCAP and not the real world. Do enjoy the rest of your day.

Interesting that a democratically elected Government putting new proposed legislation through the Parliamentary process is considered authoritirian by some.

We already have criminal offences that aren't given a jury trial and are instead determined by a majority of 3 magistrates who have no formal legal qualifications albeit they get training when appointed. Many of the cases covered by the proposed changes are already 'either way' cases that can be heard by Magistrates but the defendant currently has a right to request a Crown Court trial instead. Moving complex fraud etc. away from a jury trial seems pretty logical. They can require jurors to be available for length periods which isn't great for employers and the subject matter can be well beyond the understanding of most members of the public.

That said, if they want to clear backlogs then fixing Court infrastructure so that they can maximise facilities and increasing Court hours is probably a better way of doing things.

Also interesting that someone would find these changes worse than a country where the President gets to appoint the judges, has been declared immune from any crimes committed 'in the line of duty' and where the Government continues to ignore decisions made by their Courts.

Whoah! Wait a minute. I simply assumed that they were all ex-lawyers.
Where do I sign up to get this (seemingly) high paid cushy number that requires no formal qualifications? There must be a demand for more.

I will.
I'll also enjoy the next time you crawl out from under your stone and pop your head out. It seems to be cyclical. Perhaps it's to do with rain.

Fixing infrastructure sounds good but doesn’t that come under government spending .
