It would take an estimated 10 years to rebuild Venezuelan oil production under stable government and the oil companies are indeed, very reluctant. Venezuelan oil output is at a low not seen since 1940. (so I wasn't completely wrong).

In a phone in just before Christmas, children were calling him about Santa and Trump would routinely ask what state they lived in and he would then tell the children that he won that state and ramble about the economy and how great he is. It was utterly bizarre.

I am getting the feeling that all this stuff is going to Trump's addled head, and he's getting bolder and bolder at trampling on any sense of 'world order'. The only calculation now seems to be "Who's going to stop us?" And we seem to have an answer, which the US imperialists are taking full advantage of. There's not even a token nod to a single 'norm' or international body. It is extraordinary in both speed and extent.
