YT are filtering more and more and trying to steer people towards shorts and high viewer videos. I don't think they are necessarily supressing left opinion, it's more appeasing the sponsors and generating revenue that way.
They have stopped showing videos of Russian soldiers getting turned into manure as it was 'not sponsor friendly'.
What annoys me is the imbalance - a guy builds a rough stone shelter somewhere in the mountains of Ukraine and he gets 2m views in no time whereas some political commentator does a good piece of journalism gets barely 40k views.
[You must have an account] If you subscribe to the one's you like, the feeds will hit your home page and it will change the appearance of it and the list of 'recommended videos'. I always hit the like button on videos that sing from my hymn sheet as it does affect the algorithm, even if I do not always 100% agree.
I also do comment and I do get a lot of feedback.
