F*cking hell, comparing Kirk's death to Pretti's? And likening either to killings carried out by illegal immigrants? Unreal.

I seem to remember that after and before Kirk's death we were told that the best thing to stop a criminal with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
Following Pretti's death, apparently the good guy with gun thing doesn't work and now people shouldn't carry guns unless they want to be shot by the USA's version of the Gestapo.

Have we now moved to the concept of Schroedinger's gun in the USA?

The outrage on here is pretty selective. It's possible to think both things are awful but some deaths are more palatable than others on naca.

This plus with Kirk it wasn't how palatable his death was so much as the irony that he was a victim of the sort of action he seemed to advocate.

I agree. It's either wrong or it isn't and the character of the person isn't relevant to that. This isn't the attitude people on here had to Charlie Kirk's murder though. That didn't seem to generate much revulsion.

The response that was lacking on here about Charlie Kirk was, in the main, suprise. He was putting himself out there with hateful sermons but without the protection of the FBI. It's the US. People shoot other people about 10 times more often than anywhere else where there is not actually a war going on.

The schadenfreude came slightly too soon, though.

There is no statute of limitations for murder, and Trump has only 3 years to go. I do not think the individuals involved should necessarily sleep soundly.

The criminals further up will be fine though, unfortunately.

Trump will rat out others, just like the one he pardoned after they where jailed for his policies mistakes however you call it during his first administration.

Charlie Kirk wasn't murdered by ICE and his murderer was hunted down and arrested, which is a big difference to this two cases.

My point was that the supposed character of the victim was deemed relevant when Kirk was shot, and as such the shadenfraude was very much in evidence. Both are terrible tragedies for those involved.

The BBC showed a blown up, slowed down video, which clearly shows Pretty being disarmed.
Then they shot him.

Republican senators have joined the outcry for a full, independent investigation.
As usual, he’s being as clear in his response as anyone who watched his Davos speech, would expect.
Meanwhile among Trump’s inner circle jerkers, it’s close ranks and keep telling it like it isn’t.
