The 'ring' is a network of finance, paedophilia, blackmail, control, political influence, money and abuse of all of the above.
The billionaire class seems to be populated by many who have personality disorders. Psychologists say that being so rich flips a mental switch.

The post about Musk's complaint about wealth not bringing happiness aligns perfectly with that. Once that switch has been flipped, and the adding of more zeroes on their bank balance becomes the measure of their 'success', then they will always be miserable bastards, as whatever they have will never be 'enough'. All they want is 'more', and in their misery at that unattainable goal and at the realisation that their own mortality will intervene and stop the process (literally) dead, they end up trying to feed carnal desires, but they then discover that that's an addiction that is never really satisfied, so try to feed it with ever-more extreme frequency and perversion.

They have no concept of 'enough'. It's a pity I don't believe in hell, as if it did exist, it's where they'd all belong.

True (I was half jesting), but I think that the redaction protocols' central aim is to protect the elite at all costs, so the easiest way to achieve that at the speed they've needed (given the number of documents) is to just redact all perpetrators' names as the default action.

I wish you would stop cantering on Trump. I guess he's a lynch pin as he holds the power over the DHS and DOJ. That motive was stark and apparent from day 1 of Trump 2.0.
Cross fingers the senile old incontinent perv lets slip or dies and the control ebbs away to reveal as long as there are people willing to stick their necks out and open the can of worms right up.
They are so incompetent the release of selected files wasn't properly done and as one commentator said, it has all been downloaded and is now out there forever and being scrutinised by many.

With so much attention - now global, on the Epstein files, I hope also that the sheer weight of interest/news/speculation/attention both legal and public will illicit movement (more than the sh*t Gibbon's bowels).

...and Gates put himself out as a philanthropist. Do the super rich have any philanthropy in them? Why do they not want to leave a positive human or environmental footprint?

At one point Gates was supposedly wanting to give away nearly his entire wealth for 'good causes'. Not sure what came of that. Maybe he thought that that would absolve his sins, like a Catholic 'indulgence'.

Maybe still an active investigation? I hope that's why, but its been years and no prosecutions. Awful to make victim's names public.

As Pinno pointed out above, if enough years pass then there will be no prosecutions.
Very likely that is/was the strategy, then simply move on and walk away.

Read somewhere yesterday that the majority (or at least a hugely significant number) of the "files" are actually videos deemed too disturbing to release. Given the redactions, I think this is where the real damning evidence is. Also think that some of these have probably been sold to Putin (possibly others) which might explain his influence over some high level political operators.

Some fairly convincing opinions that Epstein really was an active Russian asset, unlike Trump, who's a gullible fool.

He seems (epstein) he's was trying to lure people of interest to his island.

From there he could photograph, gather compromising information to be able to manipulate them in public office or business.

Sending emails to certain people doesn't immediately convict them as guilty

Replying 'can i haz girls plz?' does though

The DOJ are doing something illegal - redacting the names of the perpetrators but revealing the names of victims.
My suspicion/wondering/conspiracy theory is that it's mdeliberate. US Gov. are not that incompetent. Maybe they are doing it to intimadate the victims as in "Come forward and/or make public noise and we will reveal your private confidential information and just to prove we really will here are some samples to start with".

Of course I have no evidence and it's a 2+2=22 but I cannot believe the US Gov. is that incompetent so it must be deliberate so why?

The late scientist Stephen Hawking made a name for himself through his exploration of the physics of black holes, but it is his connection to the holder of one of the world’s most notorious black books — the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein — that has him in the news again. A just-unsealed 2015 email from Epstein to his former girlfriend and co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, suggests Hawking was involved in the culture of sex abuse that thrived on Epstein’s private island. The email was included in discovery in connection with a defamation lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s...
