I assume you mean 'sectionable'. Not sure what terminology they use in America for that, but it's way past 25th Amendment time at least, even if they don't forcibly detain him for his own safety.

Yeah, that. Whatever the applicable term is.

'Sectioning' is really a horrible thing, particularly if it's done completely against the wishes of the 'sectionee', and quite rightly has a very high bar, especially where it involves forced medication or other treatment in order to safeguard the health or wellbeing of the individual or members of the public.

Sorry to hear about your dad.

I had hopes till I found out that the (president-appointed) cabinet has to agree he's away with the fairies before anyone else even gets a look in. Doesn't seem much of a safeguard really.

Reminds me of my friend's mum in my skateboarding days, "dont't come running to me when you fall off and break your leg"

I made a very unfortunate observation once, when some student had got very drunk, collapsed on the local railway line late one night (everyone news something was going on, as the police helicopter was overing for ages) , and ended up losing both her legs when the train ran over them. Let's just say that the phrase I used to describe her drunken state was unintentionally utterly tasteless.
