I fully agree the west and or the US doesn't have the best track record on ''bringing peace'' however in this case it seems there are a few differences:
- It started from Wihtin you could argue the same for Libia but it was at the time already clear it would be militia ruled just like it has happened. Partly this can happen in Iran as well i don't see kurds giving up their self-rule for example
- there are a few indicators the regime is struggling very much, for example so far they announced to have arrested 41 ''traitors'' opposed to hunderds just about 2 months ago. there are video's going around showing either Isreali attacks on Basj checkpoints or drive by shootings on the same checkpoints with the internet being blocked for over 20 days now i think that says something. Also Isreal has made it no secret information on these checkpoints is being called in.
- the amount of senior figures haing their carreers cut short
So hopefully this regime goes down soon, and hope somethin better takes it's place.
