I keenly await the World Cup, it will be interesting to contrast it with the mid 90s one in the US.
It's lining up to be pretty problematic imo, not just from innocent tourists being labelled 'iLLegAlS' there's the whole jihad thing also.
I'm not going, in case you're wondering.

Yep. How many unknown Iranian sleeper cells are there in USA readying themselves?

Feels like this is a story being overlooked

This is a direct quote from yesterday’s news conference. He is just a gangster.

If FIFA's Infant bloke had a spine, he could re-shuffle the even and hold it Europe.
There's sufficient security concerns, never mind the moral debate.

What the one who gave Trump a peace prize when he threw his toys out for not getting the real thing?

That one. FIFA has a chequered history. Not least the antipathy towards the atrocious treatment of workers (and deaths) building the stadia for the last world cup.
Makes you wonder who's pulling the strings and for what reason. Is it just about money?

Yes.

Like in Libia and Iraq?
I fully agree the west and or the US doesn't have the best track record on ''bringing peace'' however in this case it seems there are a few differences:
- It started from Wihtin you could argue the same for Libia but it was at the time already clear it would be militia ruled just like it has happened. Partly this can happen in Iran as well i don't see kurds giving up their self-rule for example
- there are a few indicators the regime is struggling very much, for example so far they announced to have arrested 41 ''traitors'' opposed to hunderds just about 2 months ago. there are video's going around showing either Isreali attacks on Basj checkpoints or drive by shootings on the same checkpoints with the internet being blocked for over 20 days now i think that says something. Also Isreal has made it no secret information on these checkpoints is being called in.
- the amount of senior figures haing their carreers cut short

So hopefully this regime goes down soon, and hope somethin better takes it's place.
