Haha, I never knew that.
When I saw it (photos) I thought Aircraft Hangar.Surely even he realises it will still look like a farm building under construction by the time he leaves office?
Yes, but a beautiful one. When I saw it (photos) I thought Aircraft Hangar.
About how the press lost the plot in their flawed attempt not to take sides. I suppose the question we –and they – need to ask is at what point modern media, had they been based in Germany, would have stopped reporting Hitler as a normal politician and taken (effectively) a moral stance to oppose him... before or after he started invading countries and/or gassing Jews?

She stressed that so much right wing online culture is about distraction — she likened it to jingling keys to capture the attention of a baby. “If the economy is the number one issue for both Democrats and Republicans going into the midterms, no amount of Malfoid scissoring Anakin Skywalker is going to change that need for people to be in a better financial position,” Mercante said. “The tech oligarchs pushed this stuff straight into our eyes for two years straight unfettered [...] And I wake up and gas is this expensive? I don’t care if you take a Taylor Swift song and make JD Vance walk out to it.”
“[They] really thought that this would just last forever,” she added. “When you build up a meme presidency, eventually the cards just collapse underneath you, and there's just nothing to show for it.”
Though this midterm signals a move away from Gamergate-style culture war politics, both Senters and Mercante cautioned that this type of rhetoric is still dangerous, and can still be destructive. “They’re still very good at doing propaganda on the internet — they wrote the book in many cases,” Mercante said.
An enlightening read about the limits of online-ness, with reference to Trump, but Badenoch might care to take note: you can't meme yourself to victory if it bumps up against realities.

Further highlighting his flaws and another public call for "men in white coats" to do something.Irony overload.
Donnie has just signed an order to prevent future presidents changing the Oval Office.
I have the impression US Midterms are another example of what happened to UK last election. The "winner" didn't really win but rather the "loser" was the one who gave the election away.
Like Starmer didn't really win anything but rather the failings of the Conservatives gave the election to Labour. In the same way, Democrats didn't present proposals to win, rather Trūmp's control over Republican's and Trümp's failing gave the election to the Democrats.
More that the loser gives the election away rather than the "winner" making a case with their proposals".
A worrying aspect to the apparent/reported reasons the Democrats "won" is that what seems to have been by far the most significant reason was the amount they were having to pay for fuel. Loss of healthcare, ICE going around killing people, corruption, etc., etc. seem to have been minor secondary and many commentators say without the fuel prices it would have turned out very differently.
Many interviewed expressing how bad so many things were but still prepared to vote for the source of the madness 9trümp). Without the fuel "straw that broke the camel's back" maybe many would still be unhappy about the other concerns but still go vote for the cause of those issues (Republicans).
Which means in 2 years time, assuming their fuel prices drop (a bit) then those republicans switching or staying home will feel it's OK to revert to Republican and we could easily end-up with another MAGA offering.
Maybe what happens in 2 years comes down more to who whatever happens now is attributed to. If Democrat action manages to reduce the fuel prices and cost of living but Trümp manages to take the credit (given how readily Republican inclined voters seem to believe him) then counter productive.Could happen. On the other hand, Donnie just can't help being Donnie so expect more of the same. Even if reined in a bit.
The Dems do have to get organised though or end up like Starmer.

Similarly if prices stay high (due to Trümp's madness) but he manages to put it onto Democrats then again Republican vote recovers.
Democrats are in a difficult position to improve things (given Trümp's vetos) and to make sure the credit of the improvement is seen as their doing and is not "stolen" by Trūmp/Republicans.
