Certainly spooked Macron and many others.
But what's really behind it? Immigration is the oft spouted line, cost of living, climate denial, we've never had it so good, Russian meddling to destabilise the Western World?
Why are we and the USAnians going down a right wing path? Whence forth our dissatisfaction?
Surely we know that right wing/totalitarian parties fail leaving the population worse-off, so why do we think they're rhetoric is any better this time?
There sure are a lot of angry people out there, no doubt....

Human memory of past events is short, probably not even one generation. Born in 1947 my whole life has been lived post WW2 and the antics of Hitler / Mussolini. The next generation (eg my children) are even more removed from it, my Grandchildren (who are voters) hardly know it happened. Most people have just about zero interest / engagement with politics. Therefore, it is easy to recycle the same old crap every few years. Just my unscientific take on it.

You're looking at the whole. The EU is acting like the WEF trying to merge different nationalities into one,it will never happen. Wars will occur

France, Italy Austria, Germany, Belgium all had a swing to the right. Netherlands already has got right wing government. Belgium government PM resigned, France holding elections on the back of these EU elections. Talk of Germany's chancellor calling elections. Ireland resoundingly rejected conservative policies costing him his position.

Nationalism is foremost in Europe and it's showing up via elections.

The current economic model that's been held up as the one and only economic model. The 'Market solves everything' is not solving everything, it's got out of control and is eating itself as well as destroying people's lives.

There needs to be a balance as the pendulum has swung to far in one direction and it's causing people to be unable to feed and clothe themselves, their families, struggling to keep a roof over their head while big corps. make huge profits via price gouging.

Many people are entitled to be pissed off but voting for the RW/far right is not the answer.
