Police chiefs have had enough of NCHI.

They will no longer record them.

They undermine freedom of speech, importantly divert officers away from proper work like fighting actual crime.

A new common sense system will be introduced. A check list for officers to go through to stop officers intervening in online spats or offensive comments.

I don't believe people actually want the police to stop recording NCHIs.
They may say they want them to, and have good free speech reasons for this, but they also want to know why 'nothing was done' before things escalated.
