The numbers identifying as gay and lesbian remain static, which is very telling.

In short, rise was due in part to social contagion/being a trend and the pandemic (which in part meant kids were influenced by online material much more than previously imo).

Each of her answers was more or less correct.

She was subjected to questions about science - not her area - she said so. What she did say in reply was largely correct, and to the best of her knowledge.

She was there to provide answers pertaining to questions of law not of biology - she said so. She was then given a number of ''gotcha'' biology questions to seek to undermine her and embarrass her.

When she gave a straight reply to the legal question, she gave the correct answer. Australia recognises the use of deeming provisions as the UK does. If deeming provisions were used in law in Australia to say that any person can have state recognition as a woman before the law - then that would be the case.

I know people here might disagree with the use of a deeming provision for the purpose (rarely here people object to their use for purposes such as tax avoidance!) However, as the legal expert in the room, she was right to disagree with the proposition that in law, it is possible for a woman to have a penis - just as is the position is in other jurisdictions.

Forcing people into the closet was never a solution. I'm the one with the experience of that here - and it didn't work in my case.

Today Dr Victoria McCloud was in the building. She has made the case that since the if the judgment of the Supreme Court is correct, then it is the case that the UK has failed to be compliant with the directive that led to the Goodwin case and the GRA. This could lead to enforcement of Goodwin being reopened, and the government being obliged to act in quick order.

Press statement likely soon perhaps as early as one day this week.

Seeing as McCloud announced this on Bluesky last night you are sharing common knowledge. It's not some insider information to which only you were privvy. Pretending it is is another attempt to shore up the persona you present on here.

Yep. Monkers was a regular poster on here. She was a retired lady and also a lesbian. Importantly she told us that she had taken in and supported 'N' her transgender niece after she was abused by her parents. Monkers passed away at the end of last year. Her niece 'N' still posts on her account but has no interest in getting their own account.

Some people contend that 'N' is a convenient fiction created by whoever was posting as Monkers. Others are willing, based on the differing writing styles and some of the very personal history that Monkers shared, to allow that 'N' is a different person and does exist. I believe that 'N' is a human rights lawyer.

My personal view is that 'N' is a real person and as such obviously she has a vested interest in this topic and a perspective that the rest of us lack. I am not in total agreement with 'N's views, but then that is the point of discussion.
