The News Agents podcast highlighted one of the major problems facing the peace process. Trùmp is looking for an event rather than a process. Peace talks are ongoing processes.
Thinking it's the same problem for Gaza where Trùmp got his event and since then no process so Israel's just reverted to form as Trümp's moved on looking for next event.
I think with Gaza that's indeed a very reasonable point, as it's not just Hamas but many other fractions and disputes on both sides. Along with shrines nd other places holy for at least two religions.
As for Iran, it has been stable hating the west and their own population(if they don't agree with their exact reading of things) for the past years so any peace deal might see them return to hanging people because they think or they say they are gay, arresting women and raping thm in jails because they did not wear the veil as described by the modesty police, unloading a kalasnikov or other machine gun on peacefull protestors.
In short a peace deal probably solves Trumps problem, just not that of those people happen to be born there and happen to not agree with their regime.
