It is likely that his oposition to Israel derives from naked antisemitism rather than from any kind of human decency.

To be fair, he is quite a vocal non-interventionist. I think he served quite a few tours of Iraq and his wife was in the military and killed by a suicide bomber in Syria. I find many of his views and the people he associates with abhorrent, but I do think his opposition to bombing Iran is probably genuine.

My suspicion is that negotiations nearing a deal is the reason Israel (re)started the war. They don't seem too keen on deals with Iran of any sort.
