Not disputing your view, and, I know in "recent" times, "the West" (including the UK) have screwed things up, in the region, but, ancient history is not my strong point, has the Middle-East (as we now call it) ever been a stable area?

It wasn't any more or less stable than Europe, it had good times and bad times, like in Europe. The 2000 years of conflict thing is a canard created in the last century to justify Israel's violence.

I don't think there is a risk of libel.

I don’t think there is any dispute that Jesus existed.
His status as the son of god harder to prove.

I thought that the most likely historical interpretation was more along the lines that "Jesus" is a label for something more like a religious movement, than one person.
