I think it might be more he sees a chance to wind people up on this side and people keep falling for it.
I honestly think he's just bored. Who has the time to go on social media and post links all day on a forum that nobody is listening to you on?
If these motives are correct they seem to reflect a pretty pathetic, needy, attention-seeking mentality.
At what point do the Americans decide that enough is enough as oil prices are set to keep rising and rising?
I mean, Trump is in a corner of his own making and he hasn't got an exit strategy there's np way forward and stepping down will be seen as failure. So, the only thing that will stop the conflict is the removal of Trump. Surely his inner circle are feeling the heat and realsing the absurdity and pointlessness of this conflict. It will reflect on them eventually.
Despite all of the past atrocities in the middle east I can't help but think this latest act of aggression has pushed the situation far beyond previous boundaries.
As with the political situation in the US, previously there was some moderation and attempt to at least manage the public face of the dubious agendas being pursued.. now the veil has been torn off it's all too clear what's happening. The extent of news / internet blackouts and blatantly biased attempts to "manage" press coverage also seems to have reached new heights; suggesting a lot's going on that they don't want us to know about.
The Israelis have finally duped the biggest, thickest bully in the playground into complicity in their scorched-earth policy of ethnic cleansing.
Israel's singular motive to eradicate or drive out their arab neigbours becomes increasingly obvious and it seems the current situation has been seized by them to wreak a similar humanitarian catastrophe in the Lebanon and maybe even Iran as they've been persuing in Gaza.
I think both parties responsible for this atrocity have pushed it far beyond the point of reasonable recovery or reconciliation - if they stop now Iran will just keep going as they have nothing to lose. A ceasefire will see Israel depleted and Iran continuing on the attack, so anything short of complete "victory" for Israel leaves it with a far greater existential threat than previously.
On top of that Trump's actions have left him in a similar situation - no easy way out of a worsening situation that's entirely of his creation.
So, we have two nations backed into a corner, with limited options and each with shameless psychopaths at the helm. "Leaders" with nothing to lose and access to "the nuclear option" - something I suspect Israel would deploy in a heartbeat if they thought they could get away with it, while Trump's only objection would probably only be the damage to the oil and gas infrastructure in the region...
