At what point do the Americans decide that enough is enough as oil prices are set to keep rising and rising?
I mean, Trump is in a corner of his own making and he hasn't got an exit strategy there's np way forward and stepping down will be seen as failure. So, the only thing that will stop the conflict is the removal of Trump. Surely his inner circle are feeling the heat and realsing the absurdity and pointlessness of this conflict. It will reflect on them eventually.

You must let us know when he tells you the exit strategy

I think it might be more he sees a chance to wind people up on this side and people keep falling for it.

I honestly think he's just bored. Who has the time to go on social media and post links all day on a forum that nobody is listening to you on?
If these motives are correct they seem to reflect a pretty pathetic, needy, attention-seeking mentality.

Despite all of the past atrocities in the middle east I can't help but think this latest act of aggression has pushed the situation far beyond previous boundaries.

As with the political situation in the US, previously there was some moderation and attempt to at least manage the public face of the dubious agendas being pursued.. now the veil has been torn off it's all too clear what's happening. The extent of news / internet blackouts and blatantly biased attempts to "manage" press coverage also seems to have reached new heights; suggesting a lot's going on that they don't want us to know about.

The Israelis have finally duped the biggest, thickest bully in the playground into complicity in their scorched-earth policy of ethnic cleansing.

Israel's singular motive to eradicate or drive out their arab neigbours becomes increasingly obvious and it seems the current situation has been seized by them to wreak a similar humanitarian catastrophe in the Lebanon and maybe even Iran as they've been persuing in Gaza.

I think both parties responsible for this atrocity have pushed it far beyond the point of reasonable recovery or reconciliation - if they stop now Iran will just keep going as they have nothing to lose. A ceasefire will see Israel depleted and Iran continuing on the attack, so anything short of complete "victory" for Israel leaves it with a far greater existential threat than previously.

On top of that Trump's actions have left him in a similar situation - no easy way out of a worsening situation that's entirely of his creation.

So, we have two nations backed into a corner, with limited options and each with shameless psychopaths at the helm. "Leaders" with nothing to lose and access to "the nuclear option" - something I suspect Israel would deploy in a heartbeat if they thought they could get away with it, while Trump's only objection would probably only be the damage to the oil and gas infrastructure in the region...

At what point does he pull back (and by point, I mean oil price). I reckon $150 a barrel.
Are the yanks affected by the oil price increase?

After all, there’s vast amounts of “free” oil from Donnie’s escapades in Venezuela. Didn’t he say he was taking back what was rightfully his?

The yanks are paying close to what we pay per litre. US gallon is smaller @ 3.78L.

Very recently reported by BBC:
In a post on TruthSocial all in capital letters he says: "I AM PLEASE TO REPORT THAT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND THE COUNTRY OF IRAN, HAVE HAD, OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS, VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS REGARDING A COMPLETE AND TOTAL RESOLUTION OF OUR HOSTILITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

"BASED ON THE TENOR AND TONE OF THESE IN DEPTH, DETAILED, AND CONSTRUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS, WITCH WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, I HAVE INSTRUCTED THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR TO POSTPONE ANY AND ALL MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST IRANIAN POWER PLANTS AND ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A FIVE DAY PERIOD, SUBJECT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ONGOING MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP"

No response as yet from Iran; I suspect this claim by Trump is from his vivid imagination, and no such "detailed and constructive conversations" have taken place in reality. TACO

The trouble is I kept on thinking "This must be the tipping point" at each of Trump's increasingly mad missteps, but each time... 'crickets', as Americans would say. I think it's gone on so long now that they can't see any way of admitting they've fucked up.

I agree, but I think the fuel price is a sacred thing in the USA. Even the dullest of rednecks will revolt if they can't afford to fill up their pickup truck.

I suspect he'd not want radioactive resorts where he's hoping to cash in on the post-apocalypse rebuilding.
True, although I imagine such a thought would be a long way down the list compared to those concerning the furtherment of his personal image..

Interesting that it's all in caps and contains at least one grammatical error ("witch") - a sign of stress / desparation or just the dementia becoming more obvious..?

I hope Iran tell him to do one; which I think is highly likely given his incorrect posts made regarding more verifiable situations. Since the US precipitated this conflict Iran have shown zero interest in a diplomatic resolution and righfully don't trust the US at all after this was repeatedly destroyed by the US renaging on agreements and scuppering deals on the nuclear situation.

I imagine this is just another fantasist post on the part of the orange messiah - very interested to see what Iran's response is.

Nah... it went like this:-

"Pete - I'm telling you, if we bomb the shoot our of the Iran infrastructure things are going to get 100 times worse"
"I know - but he wants us to blow things up - and blowing things up is fun. It's good for our numbers."
"Look - you need to tell him we are having peace talks. He doesn't even know what time it is. Let's just brief him that there's a pause while we negotiate something. We can trail it on fox, tell him his numbers are up - you know the drill - just drip feed him and wait for him to vomit it out on Truth Social."
"Well if you really think..."
"Yes Pete - I really think. Now put your dumb bells away, and go brief him."

Edit: You lot already know about this.

I don't (won't!) have a Truth Social account, so I haven't fact checked this yet. But it does tally about my comments about expecting good news on Monday to enable more market manipulation.
