That's just your ''humble opinion'' is it?

Most would happily pay more tax if asked to.

Since you didn’t ask. My definition of too much would be incomes over £1million pa, tax at 50% and assets other than one main residence in excess of £10million. Beyond that it becomes taxable at 1% per annum.

It looks like the Autumn might be their “happy time” then: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn85vyd1epzo

Are your politics left of centre?

I care about other people not just myself. I also care for the world's environment, and not just the part of it I live in. I recognise that the state has had a system of collective responsibility since 1948. I recognise my responsibilities in being a global citizen. I recognise that people who do not hold such views are 'the problem'.

As an able-bodied and able-minded person, I make sure that I do my bit, by trying to keep healthy, and making sure that I pay all tax due, and making contributions to the charities I choose to support.

I admire and respect that. I try to do the same.

Guess that makes me a mug, in some people's eyes, and I can live with that.

I'm increasingly thinking that the left<->right in politics is too simplistic for the way things have developed. It's become more complex as more aspects have become important that are unrelated to the "traditional" left/right ideologies.

Paging Rick Chasey!!

For non-BR folk, RC had been going on about this for some time, saying that the split was a generational and educational one. Brexit, for instance, blew apart the class-centred allegiences, with the younger and more highly educated in one camp, and the older and less educated in the other.

That said, the RW still want to make out that all LW-leaning people are poor and jealous, but my Devon consituencies blow that apart, with affluent Topsham having gone from the truest blue since time immemorial to solid Labour. They definitely aren't poor or jealous.

It only required a 'yes' or 'no' answer...

I just wanted Monkers (or whoever it is using her log in details) to answer the question. Unfortunately it was a bit too difficult for her.
