There is a fake news thread. It is a shame, but the trolls don't use it because they think it's a fake thread for news.

It's a plus in many ways that this forum is unmoderated, but it does mean that if the threads aren't going to turn into a continuous troll-fest that bores the pants off everyone else, posters need to starve trolls. As I say, don't name them.

TBH, the people who feed trolls are as tiresome as the trolls themselves. Just stick 'em in a private room together and let them get on with it, and let the rest of us have vaguely sensible discussions.

Yes but this thread is also an prime example that is not always that simple, for example of all those video's etc posted of alleged Isreali airstrikes are you really be able to tell the difference between a building in Syria or one in Israel? BBC news couldn't they have ''rectified'' at least couple of times. (rectified between quotation marks because they put it away someone on their website opposed to the wrong/fake news being in big letters on the main page.)

Similarly both Hamas and it's political spin-off's and Israel/jewish organisations have strong ties almost everywhere in the world and have proven to be willing and able to spin stories often twisting it in such a way it's either qualifies as fake news or is very close to it.

So i would say it isn't just trolls it are also other parties with their own agenda's, true colors and such.

We live in interesting and dark times. We have never had more independent surveillance of troops movements and consequences of their actions on the ground and yet, the leaders seem hell-bent on using coercive and manipulative language in the press in contradiction of the clear actions we are able to witness. It's a pretty bleak future we are leaving behind...

During the final Biden days a ceasefire was negotiated (and it was under Biden's Presidency though Trump tried to claim the credit). Now we see just how committed Trump is when it comes to ceasefires and how good he is (or rather isn't) at negotiating ceasefire deals.

I caught the end of an interview with a UN official in The World at One today. The UN official lost her rag with the interviewer legalistic caveats about Israel not having been found in court to be violating international law, and said something along the lines of we don't need a court to confirm what our eyes can see, and there will be no point crying crocodile tears after the fact. Once the interview finished the interviewer, Sarah Montague I think, read the usual guff from the Iraelis about being careful about civilians in a sort of exasperated tone, and continued in a rather hush voice for a few sentences. It did feel like she was pissed off from having to parrot the Israeli line.
