Israel ‘seeking Trump’s support for plan to expel Palestinians from Gaza’

Israel’s defence minister has said his country is seeking Donald Trump’s support to approve plans to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in what has widely been condemned as a potential war crime.
...
Katz, however, said on Wednesday that he believed US support could tip regional opinion in favour of the forced resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza. He said Trump’s approval was crucial to convince neighbouring countries to accept Palestinian refugees.

“Every country that is willing to take them in wants American backing,” he said. “Trump has not cancelled this at the moment. He has frozen it.”

BBC Newsnight had Jonathan Hall (Government's Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation) on their "panel" last night supposedly as an "independent" view.

But he started that we should not turn Israel into a "pariah state because ..." and, does he not appreciate we are not turning them into that, they turned themselves into a pariah state. It is the Israeli state actions that have caused this not the UK.

Then he went on about this move potentially causing increased attacks on UK resident Jewish community. To me those risks have already been massively increased by the conflation of Israeli state actions with anti-semitism (and hence with the Jewish community). We cannot use that as an excuse to support and be complicit with Israel's illegal and immoral actions in the West Bank. I was disappointed that this independent adviser was arguing against the proposed trade restrictions rather than saying that we should have a broader publicity campaign to dissociate Israeli state criticism from anti-semitism.

It is such cowardice to hide behind the term ‘anti-semitism’, that in itself becomes a human shield.

At this point, or maybe at any point, the only real solution is/was the decolonisation of Palestine.
This would have followed if the Arab Spring and Occupy movements hadn't been scuppered by infiltrators, manipulating social media in particular.

Boycot - real not token - needs to happen.
