I listened to Tugendhat’s response to Miliband. He seemed to agree with most of the statement, then put a flimsy opposition forward, that we are making Israel a pariah state, like they are not doing that themselves.

I guess opposition has to oppose, but it seems very superficial.

One thing I don't fully understand about the West Bank E1 Settlement. Everybody saying it would end any prospect of a Palestinian State. But I can't see why they can't just set the boundaries of a Palestinian State anyway and include the E1 Settlement inside Palestine, under Palestinian rule and tough on Israel who knew it was illegal anyway.

They seem to feel they have to but there should be plenty of things where cross-party consensus is possible, especially on foreign policy. However, they are taking their lead from Badenoch who more or less refused an opportunity to accept an invitation to a cross-party group at PMQs last week and feels she has to oppose everything just because it has come Lefties. Reminds me of someone else.

Badenoch is too focused on getting the clicks/likes for her Youtube, X and Tiktok videos, which is all based on her being hostile and smug, and getting 'wins' via catchy barbs her script writers have fed her. She's as hollow as an empty tube of Smarties.

There is a well defined territory, that's why all the settlements are illegal under international law, but as @Ian H says, without enforcement it means fück all.
