I saw that. Faragism has taken hold of cons and labs and now this twät is bringing it to the greens. FFS.

That wasn't actually Bob's point.

Much of this thread is about the rise of Reform, how they've achieved success, and what damage they will do if/when they come to power.

People have also agreed that countering populist approaches is difficult especially with limited resources.

Polanski is saying borrow from the playbook where appropriate, but he is not advocating any of their policies.

“People are done with the two old parties and we’re in this dangerous moment where Nigel Farage is absolutely ready to fill that vacuum,” Polanski said. “We should never turn into Nigel Farage. But there are things we can learn in terms of being really clear in speaking to people.

Isn't what we've been discussing, the filling of the political vacuum, the problems of unclear messaging? Sounds to me almost as if he has been reading the thread!

Well I never realised that.

And I thought everyone was convinced they were spouting incontrovertible facts on here.

Well now you know.

Well the forum is the place for libel it would seem.

I was pointing to the obvious. One person can not sue another for anything without first legally obtaining their name and address.

They aren't "areas", they are member nations. A better government would have respected that three nations voted to remain.

True. It's also true that Northern Ireland had the strongest case to remain in the EU. But let's not pretend that you and I actually think that sound reasoning and rational argument can penetrate the brain of a fool.

It was a United Kingdom vote. Not individual countries within
You don't like the result 🤣
Correct. It was a massively destructive decision taken based on a minority opinion.
Even if you look only at the people voting, it was clear that there was no mandate to proceed.

If you have 20 people in a Project Board and you need to make a massive decision which affects the future financing of the project. You don't proceed if 11 people out of 20 think it's a good idea and 9 don't.

When legislators want to pass a law in the US they have to have 66% of the vote to do so. Not 52%.

A marginal result means that you need to ask again after doing more research and providing more information.

We are not the USA.

You could easily argue that the UK never voted to join the EU.

We joined a trading block, not a governance regime.
