But which other PM would be looking for an £800k loan?

If it was a “gift” or “payment” why did it need the introduction of a guarantor? And is Johnson really not a good risk for £800k in his own right? Isn’t that his reported fee for just a few speaking engagements?

Or, just maybe, the whole thing is even murkier than so far revealed…

If he’s good for it, then why couldn’t he find a loan via the usual banking channels open to us all?

Well, it did involve somebody involved getting a position at the head of a major institution, appointed by Johnson.

Hard to view it as anything other than corruption. Anybody with any sense would have gone nowhere near it.

Of course; corruption is a given. It still doesn’t make sense to me.
