Who cares, at least the dwindling BBC subscribers won't have to pay for his platitudes

I do, and so will a lot of people who grew with him as the face of the most popular sport in the UK.

I reckon folks who don't get how MOTD has evolved over the years will be upset about how woke it's gonna get with Kelly Cates, Gabby Logan and Mark Pugach at the helm.

I care . . . one of the very best sports presenters on a flagship BBC programme. There's a reason he's the highest paid presenter at the BBC . . . the same reason so many others pay for his services.

It's quite obvious why you don't and quite predictable that you would be first to chip in on something you claim to care so little about.

And will be back most likely as a private contractor. So he'll continue to be paid with taxpayer money. And why not ? He's good at his job and enormously popular.

wasn't he already a private contractor, as opposed to an employee? I certainly cannot find any use of the word "employee" in any of the coverage.

He was already *mostly* a private contractor but I believe MOTD was still as a direct employee hence Lineker was still at the top of the BBC Salary List. I would imagine he's already been offered significantly more to present the same stuff for Sky, unless the Beeb get him back through his production company.
