Serves you right for frequenting NCAP! 🤣

At least it lasted longer than my diet and exercise committments

Your wife watches a radio show?

I don't really understand why Radio 2 has his show. They have Radio 4 and Radio 5 for news and current affairs including chances for audience participation. I don't listen to Radio 2 much these days since their best presenters moved in the equality farce a few years ago but when I did it would get switched over or off at midday when Vine came on. In general, the quality of radio goes down once members of the public are invited to air their views (or phone in to pick a song whilst driving up for a weekend drinking prosecco in the Lake District - seriously, in this age of easy streaming why would anyone bother calling to request a song and bore us all with their weekend plans whilst giggling about consuming copious amounts of sparkling wine?)

Anyway, there goes my New Year's Resolution to be less grumpy!

Channel 5, 09:15-11:30, Monday to Friday.
(I had to Google the times)

A TV program I've never watched but seen ads for and can't quite understand its purpose is the program where you watch other people watching TV (maybe called GoogleBox?). Don't understand why you'd want to spend 30 mins watching people watch TV.

He has a TV show as well for those that just can't get enough.

Simple. The lunch time slot has been a "chat" slot since 1973 - Jimmy Young had presented it for 29 years before they decided to put him out to grass. They wanted someone to continue the chat format so Vine was brought in. Vine got rid of the consumer segments like recipes and legal advice in favour of his preferred format of adversarial debates on the topics of the day - usually a mix of "serious" and light

e.g. Jeremy discusses antisemitism, pickpockets, erectile dysfunction and accidental purchases. Or Jeremy discusses paying for Christmas, childhood criminal records, in-laws and bath mats.

Usually with his overtone of doom and gloom. "So... Bath mats - hidden household killer or just something to keep your feet warm? We hear from Maud Tildelsy who's lost her husband after he slipped on a rogue bath mat. Should they be banned? We'll also be joined by Jane Everyperson who just enjoys warm feet instead of the cold floor tiles..."

Is there a link between antisemitism, pickpockets, erectile disfunction and accidental purchases? That could have been an interesting discussion.

At least BBC Verify has looked out of the window and can report that it is indeed raining.

The BBC are at it today, with "conflicting accounts of what happened" in Minneapolis. As a point of fact, there are not conflicting accounts, because there are a plethora of self consistent videos of it.

There are conflicting *explanations* of why the woman was shot. But to suggest there is some doubt over the actual event is inviting a Rumsfeldian situation where there can be some facts that are alternatives to the facts.
That seems to perfectly sum-up the situation.

This will evolve over the coming days, hopefully the BBC will use better language to describe it ...
EDIT: just seen Brian's post - clearly Sky News are just as bad!

It's bizarre that there have been no items on the BBC News website more recently than 13 hours ago, and none that reflect or reference the BBC Verify item.

There is something really amiss with how they are shying away from this.
