The news is quite good.

And they've also branched out in the last century or so I to this new thing called "radio".

Actually, that's silly of me, because there is some indication that CRXAndy gets his news from other sources, such as Truth Social, Breibart, GB News, Russian State Media and, worst of all, Twitter.

The [BBC] news is quite good.
I find their news rather "bland". Very basic, no explanation, no background to events. There are exceptions eg Jeremy Bowen on Middle East. Newsnight used to be good but they did a radical cost cutting on it and now it's mostly views from a Reform spokesperson and somebody not Reform. They do have some good "behind the scenes services which get on air in Unspun World with John. Simpson which provides the sort of background and analysis missing from BBC1 & BBC2 News (I don't ever see the 24/7 news channels).

Most BBC news isn't on the telly. It's definitely less in depth than it used to be though, I agree. But it's the closest you can get to impartial.

I find C4 TV News a good balance. Some very annoying presenters eg one who just keeps interrupting interviewees whilst they are trying to answer. Others do have their obvious viewpoints. But many of the presenters know their area well are balanced and provide good background and some analysis.

Well the telegraph is today reporting that Rachel Reeves has backtracked on something she never said she would do. It's not a serious newspaper any more.
