Just noticed this:-

Mr Baker replied to Guru-Murthy's tweet, accepting the apology and saying he "appreciated" the gesture.
However, he also told Times Radio, that sacking Guru-Murthy would be a "service to the public" if he was found to be in breach of his code of conduct.

I wonder if Mr Baker is also for sacking Conservative Politicians who have broken their code of conduct?

Don't start celebrating yet

latest is that Johnson is considering standing again
"because he thinks it is a matter of National Interest"

Yea Gods!!

Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad

I was looking up this phrase to make sure I had it right, and by pure coincidence found someone questioning its origin. He started his question thus:

Last night I was reading Boswell’s Life of Johnson, and came across the familiar quotation in a Latin form, Quos Deus vult perdere prius dementat – “those whom God wishes to destroy he first drives mad”. ... I think we can suppose that the English “gods” replacing “Deus”, “God”, is just a feature of quotation. ...

Was this find really just coincidence? ^_^

I have always liked Have I Got News for You.

It has improved immensely since they got rid of Angus Deayton and had guest presenters.

Perhaps the Tory Party should try it.....guest PM for the month. It would save a lot of unnecessary voting and work for Graham Brady.

Deayton left the show because of a coke'n'hookers scandal, I think, so it's not really comparable with the Tories, is it?
