My hope is that she just made those comments because she thought it would please the Tory members whose votes she wanted, and that she will be much more pragmatic when it comes to dealing with Macron in future.

She only became a Brexiter once she saw it was better for her chances in the Party after the referendum so she does understand the importance of relations with the EU.

She has turned several times already and let us hope she will again.

She cannot say "This lady is not for turning".
