Brexit went swimmingly well….its the shoot governments handling of it afterwards thats shoot. Cant blame brexit for the government inefficiencies

But you can blame the government for Brexit (cos it's they wot dunnit). How might they have handled it better?

At least pointing the finger at the government for being at fault because they implemented the Brexit that was voted for, and warned against time and time and time again, is progress of a sort from blaming remainers, or the EU, or lefty lawyers etc I guess.

Was that the same government that pushed for Brexit, told us the EU countries needed us more for trade than we needed them, ignored the potential NI border issue, said they were going to take control of immigration, and said they had an oven-ready deal?

Brexit should have been about more than just a decision to leave the EU; it should have been a fully worked out, credible plan about what was going to happen as a result.

The Tory government shouldn't have promised all the benefits that won them the referendum unless they were certain they were going to be able to deliver them. It was too important a decision for deception and/or gross incompetence...take your pick.

But the actual brexit went swimmingly…….the rest is about the government of the day being shoot in implementing policy afterwards.

If your definition of Brexit was just the decision to leave then I understand your comment.

I believe, as I said in my post, that the decision was just a part of Brexit and meaningless, in fact foolhardy, without a credible approach to dealing with the aftermath....which we now know was missing.

Brexit was the definition of leaving the EU, given to it by the media…….and that part went swimmingly
