Online Safety Act

There's literally no evidence apart from nut job sites that UK intends to ban VPNs. The woman on the troll's vidio is clearly talking about age verification for VPNs though she's no idea about how to enforce such a system.

Most commentators say it's not even possible to do prevent their use

I agree. China tries and puts significant resource into trying and reports are they are not very successful.

No real surprise as it was bound to happen. One of the "costs" of the Government's Online Safety Act. Certainly won't be the last such event. Send your confidential details to providers all over the place is just daft and UK Government putting in place laws to require that be done is even dafter.
Proof-of-age ID leaked in Discord data breach

Video game chat platform Discord has suffered a data breach, informing users that their personal information – including identity documents of those required to prove their age – were compromised.
...
Discord began using facial age assurance to check the age for users in the UK and Australia earlier this year.

As of yesterday an this morning, I've enabled full time VPN.

Something has changed, on several news websites, certain rather innocuous articles were blocked for age restrictions.

They became unblocked via the VPN.

I think someone is not telling the full truth here

1. The police do not give someone a criminal record - that comes after a conviction by a court
2. The police can administer a caution or other out of court resolution only if the accused admits the offence and agrees to the resolution.
