Not only that she was known to the voters but also maybe they saw Polanski as having parachuted in (ousting a local candidate) and using their constituency as a means to further his career as Party Leader rather than to represent their interests; like Färage pressing a few doorbells during the campaign never to be seen in the constituency again once elected.

Must admit I'm finding the 'debate' on Bluesky re Polanski and the ZiR faction quite amusing as it polarises amongst members/supporters... very much a sense of déjà vu from both Your Party and the Corbyn Labour Party débâcles. Also disappointment, as I don't know how they dig themselves out of this, and we need a loud & credible left/green voice in politics to hold the other parties to account.
