The really strange thing is he denies any wrongdoing therefore the search couldn’t have found anything damaging to him so why bother going down this route? Unless, perish the thought, he is worried there actually is incriminating evidence there and he did do wrong. Surely not?

The bloke is an arse but still has the right to expect the police to stick to the law. That is their job.

Joshua Ronsenberg did a piece across the Beeb today.

Essentially the Arșe formally known as Prince has to show that the search warrants, while lawfully obtained, were the only reasonable way for the police to move forward with their enquiries.

The police on the other hand will have to argue tjst they couldn't just take Andrew's word for everything.

Well the police will lose there then. Obviously a well-bred gentleman like Andy’s word alone should be good enough?

Once appeal heard I might try putting in a FOI request to find out how much our over stretched under funded Police Force spent defending the warrants.

I suspect they'll have the information readily on hand as I suspect others will also be requesting the same.

Or maybe the King will just declare the Royal Family exempt from applicable laws.

Does anybody know the legal reason that Andrew M-W is claiming the search was illegal?

Without knowing that comments here are completely meaningless other than giving another opportunity to kick Andrew M-W.

Nope, I just don’t understand why he is challenging it when he is maintaining he was not involved in any wrongdoing as, in that case, there will be nothing incriminating amongst whatever was taken.

I've seen no basis for appeal published but C4 News was interviewing retired senior Officer involved in such warrants and they were saying it is very easy to make a trivial (irrelevant) slip up eg typo in postcode that can invalidate the warrant.

In my opinion that he refuses to help the US inquiries into Epstein makes him deserving of criticism. That he appears to have lied to the public (eg the now infamous TV interview), etc.

Without knowing the reasons nobody can understand it, as nobody can know what, if anything, was found in the search.

If I was pissed off at the police and was advised their search was illegal I would also have a go at them for it...if I could afford the legal expense.
