This is one of the thing's that majorly pees me off. I have spent a significant amount of my professional career working in the charity sector, I have worked with offenders, care leavers, kids thrown out of school. I have been a volunteer Independent Visitor for years. My wife works for a mental health charity and volunteers at the local library. I am not saying this for praise but rather to highlight that we actually give a toss and live the values we preach.
All these grifters and idiots who bang on about patriotism and what a state the country is in do absolutely feck all for their country, their community. They have no interest at all in improving people's lives and bettering others. The fact that people like Farage and Robinson and their ilk are given any bandwidth at all makes no sense to me, neither do the people that follow them and espouse the same hollow rhetoric whilst doing bugger all to improve the country.
I appreciate this post does not necessarily fall under the heading of 'banter' 😂

I'll take that, give it includes the heating. (Hot water and cooking on gas.) Looks like I might get away with no heating till November now too. Even better now that the standing charge has gone down.

Last year Mrs B and I stayed in a quirky hotel in Rome where the slipper bath and a separate double shower, without privacy glass, were in the same room as the bed. But the Romans did put the toilet in its own room.
