Leftie still seems to be an insult in many circles. Don't let it get to you!

What do you mean, 'seems to be'?

Hopefully looking at the night-time temperatures to see if I'll get the chance to cool the house down overnight/early morning. With nine guests staying over the next fortnight, it's going to be a challenge, but 20 or below gives me a fighting chance. Though still 27C at 9.40pm tonight... hmm. Might be a couple of weeks of inactivity, or lying in a river.

Two things from yesterday.
Went out out on my bike and returned quite happy with my figures. Putting the bike away I noticed brake rub. Resistance training. 😂
After a family BBQ we were told that we were the cool grandparents. Quite chuffed until we found out how low the bar was. "You can still walk".

Don't forget that young people can do humour too.

Nah. She was serious as we are young grandparents (I blame our boys for being reckless) and we know her other grandparents.
Her friends grandparents are significantly older too.

That's nothing. There was eggs, milk and flour in Tesco yesterday, and it's ages until Pancake Day.

I'm always slightly surprised there are any print newspapers left at all. Mergers and takeovers seem inevitable given the decline in circulation and likely more will move to an online subscription model with only limited free articles.

Can't think of the last time I bought a newspaper.
I used to buy at least one a day, often more and several on a Sunday. Then cut it back so that I only bought them when travelling on train journeys or the like. Now I don't even do that. I have not bought a newspaper probably since about 2015 and regularly since around 2000

It is a bit of a misnomer. Newspaper = legacy news media that happens to still do hard copies. Much like high street shops competing with online only.

Same here, having bought the Guardian daily for years. I'm also surprised there are as many as 850 journalists at the Mirror and Express to sack. How does it take 850 bods to produce what they produce?
