Have you only just discovered those monstrosities?! Been around for a while. At least the ones used for their designed purpose make sense, but the "Platinum" edition is a joke.
F series has been built since the late 1940s. The F150 name plate from 1970s

Im pleased to own a F150 Raptor since 2011 :biggrin:

I think the fairer comparisons are between cars that even in 2000 were considered average-size cars and their modern equivalents - it does bring home how both taste and safety regulations have conspired to supersize our concept of what a 'normal-sized' car is.

A friend has a (BMW) Mini Clubman, 2023 model I think. It is a Motobility car, and, due to be replaced in the next month or so. He has decided he will have to choose something different, because the current model will not fit in the garage of his 1970s built house.

Vehicles are predominantly bought by thrusting men not limp wristed wilting flowery men, hence the alpha name tags 😉

I've always thought that if it was compulsory to give such trucks names such as Ford Petunia or Nissan Hyacinth and only allow them to be painted in lovely pastel colours that might reduce their appeal to neanderthals.
