As a man who appreciates the importance of cream over jam, you disappoint me.

Raspberry ripple should be top. Coffee has no place in ice cream.

Vanilla is hands down top, especially when made with clotted cream and topped with clotted cream. Raspberry and strawberry based ones are up there too but I do like a good quality mint chocolate chip. Totally agree on coffee and the relatively recent trend for salted caramel anything is a mystery to me. Rum and raisin feels very 1970s (probably the last time I had it).

But surely you take all that vanilla and clotted cream goodness and enhance it with a ripple of raspberry? Like this

I'm a bit surprised at raspberry ripple being at only 3%... the lushness of vanilla with intense fruity veins pulsing through it.

Oops, sorry, my other career might have bubbled up there.

On a forum that sometimes seems to primarily exist to provoke arguments, this is the most disagreeable post I have seen.

It reminds me slightly of when I wanted to have a grown-up hot drink, and as all forms of tea are the devil's piss, it had to be coffee. Well, it didn't, as at that age, no matter how many teaspoonfuls of sugar I put in the milky Maxwell House, it still tasted 'orrible. (Yeah, it still does, obvs.)

It was only once my tastebuds had learnt to enjoy the bitterness of coffee that I got what it was about. So yes, turning it back into a sweet milky food is not the way to go, as I'm sure Dan Neidle would agree.

Surprised you didn’t go all in and have Camp ‘coffee’. When I was a kid there was always a bottle in the kitchen cupboard but I can’t recall it ever being used. I’ve also never worked out what it had to do with Scotland). Coffee availability in the UK was pretty appalling until around 20 years ago.

What is WRONG with these people?

Vanilla is just a base. It's the DULLEST flavour there is. It's like saying your favourite flavour of yogurt is yogurt flavour. You add stuff to Vanilla - you add fine chocolate to get Stracciatella - a boss flavour. You add raspberry to get raspberry ripple - a boss flavour. You add honeycomb to get vanilla honeycomb - a boss flavour.

As for coffee and rum and raisin, hanging is too good for these people....

Haha, this is so Bluesky from my experience – unlike Facebook, it seems to be almost impossible for nonentities (such as me) to build an audience (which is as interesting a phenomenon as the opposite of how Facebook *does* facilitate that). It's got pretty good for keeping up with the news, but Bluesky's systems/algorithms leave normal people's profiles languishing in obscurity. I suspect it's why Bluesky is stuck in the 10's of millions of users, as people won't be inspired to create 'content' if no-one looks at it.

OTOH, bigger media names and organisations who use it report that they get much more genuine interaction on Bluesky that X, despite far higher numbers of followers on X.

The best vanilla will be excellent. Not some supermarket value tub.

My favourite crisps are good quality ready salted. If the basic ingredients are good, why ruin it with other flavour
