Can we add to that "Quiz / Game / Competition show formats that are spun out to last for hours when the content would fit into half of the allotted screen time?Quiz shows on TV where it takes ages to answer the question because we have to listen to the contestant’s thought process about what they know and what they don’t.
Just answer the bloody question.
Worst culprits for me are The 1% Club where we have to have Lee Mack tell us "well what's that done to the prize pot?" (answer - nothing -it's always goint to be £95k +/- £5k depending on who took their £1000 home), and chat with two audience members between every question.
And then, much as I love Strictly, it takes about 25 minutes to get to the first dance. There is just so much flannel. And for the dance off show - that should be a 20 minute show, tops. 30 minutes with a guest performer.
