Sky's Cathy Newman has put together a very damning report on Durham Council and how utterly terrible Reform have been at trying to run it.
A good dose of 'buyer's remorse' being shown.

Car crash R4 interview for BadEngineer this morning.

Criticised Labour for ballooning welfare Bill. Interviewer replied by saying it went up under the govt she was a part of.

Criticised Labour for defence spending commitments. Interviewer pointed out that it went down under the Tories.

And the best part, criticised Labour for their position on the West Bank.

Interviewer asked what she would do and, I kid you not, her reply was that she was the leader of the opposition not the prime minister of Israel, there was nothing she could do and that the Interviewer didn't understand the nature of her position.

The Interviewer asked what her policy would be in Burnham's position, not her current position.

Badenoch then doubled down and simply criticised the wording of the first version of the question.

Since I am currently in stitches I honestly dont know what her eventual answer was.

Car crash R4 interview for BadEngineer this morning.

I listened/heard it. She really isn't very smart. To me she came across as very dumb.

It's rare when the interviewer has to keep asking to get their question in yet Badenoch just couldn't stop talking, counldn't stop answering a question that hadn't been asked and even those answers were pretty poor ...

For the conservatives to stand any chance they need to ditch her quickly but looks to me like they are not even considering it so my current guess is Labour will be getting another term (without having to make lots of straitjacket promises).

I don't think she gave an "eventual answer" ... in fact I'm not sure she gave any answers in the entire interview.

Interesting. Some elections back I started thinking coalitions would be better for the country (better than the largest party holding a good majority).

Back in the Conservative/Lib Dem coalition I was "disappointed" and at the time felt it was not successful. But following Conservative majority I then appreciated that the Lib Dems really had achieved a significant moderating effect on the Conservatives.

Interesting that the poll shows Conservatives really flunking out. Conserving that Reform are still close to Labour but I can't see any other Party aligning with Reform to give them power which increases Labour's margin through coalition.

Someone on Bluesky (or might have been John Crace in the Graun) pointing out she can't cope with Burnham in PMQs actually bothering listening to her scripted crap and patiently and slowly puncturing each supposed attack point.

No doubt she's still churning out the "Owned!" videos and posting them on YouTube, completely oblivious to her utter inadequacy.

Add that Ms Badenoch would be "Junior Partner" and probably have to accept several ex-Conservative Shadow Minister being in very powerful ministerial posts (and likely more powerful than herself).

Although at the moment, even if they did form a coalition they still wouldn't be near a majority based on the EC prediction.

Just in case anyone was under the illusion that Brexit wasn't based on and funded by raw racism. Everything else was just a smokescreen.

Dunno if this was the right thread for this, but as Banks funded the Brexit ops through UKIP, and UKIP turned into Reform, it'll do. Carole Cadwalladr was right all along. And I wouldn't mind betting that the same sources of funding are behind the Blackshorts and Yaxley-Lennon, ultimately.
