In my opinion Reform would be good for me at the moment

Our taxes would probably drop and our income is pension based so would carry on OK

However the rest of my wife's family would be far worse off - benefits would suffer and services would as well - and they depend on them and will do so more in the future

Things would be great if you are well off and are fine looking after yourself

Especially if you are also very rich - which is the point

As a middle aged, white, professional, you are not in the majority, in the area I live, nor, I would suspect, in the areas like Durham, or others where Reform are rampant.

Yes. These ex industrial towns have been badly let down for 40 years.
But Reform isn’t the answer.
These Durham voters are seeking some sort of nostalgia that has gone and not coming back.

If Trump and his administration go mammaries up, will Nigel Cabbage still get the support from the Christian Nationalists will the reform voters see the parallels? Do they see that they are heading down the same tunnel?
The US mid terms (all being well and above board) will see a change in congress and the senate which is long before a GE in the UK.

The guy is a f*cking @rse.
He's converted to being Christian. Nothing to do with US Christian Nationalist money then?
How does he do 12 other jobs/assignments and still have time to be an MP?
Of the decent, hard working MP's I know/have known, they don't have enough time in the day.

Complete grifter, of course. I think MP's should be banned from taking second jobs or taking earnings from anything other than investments. They are paid a very good salary and are employed to represent their constituents not take cushy numbers on so called news channels or do thousands of video messages.

The High Street here has sockets on the buildings for flags. The council mostly fills them with union jacks.
There was one on our place. I hadn't noticed it until I woke one morning to find a flag fluttering outside. I got the ladder out, removed the union jack, unscrewed the socket to prevent a recurrence, and phoned the council to collect their gubbins.

The irony is that these goons are conditioning me to hate flags, as I now associate them even more strongly with pure xenophobia.
