Very hard to judge all this, but we're talking about Clacton here, a place that voted in Farage. They have form for being utter farking idiots. It's all "StOP ThE BoAtS!" for them, that's all they care about and won't even care that the current government have made rather solid progress on this single issue.
I reckon Farage will get in again and I hope I'm wrong, it would be so British for everyone to get together and a right old laugh over a binman beating Farage.

The ideal scenario really is for Farage to win with the narrowest majority, with a greatly reduced number of votes. Then have to go back to parliament and face the music.

Whilst that's true, at the last election there were more people who didn't vote for Nige spread over the main parties than those who did vote Farage. If the vote were repeated and all who voted Labour Green and LibDem vote Binface, Binface wins.

Based on most of the people I know who voted Reform, I would guess that a significant proportion did not vote FOR Reform, but, AGAINST whichever party they previously supported. My personal view is that Reform support is not nearly as "solid" as the media have (until now) led us to believe.

It really is going to be interesting whether Farage puts in any appearances where he can be questioned, and just how probing the questioning will be. He's obviously shit-scared of being pressed on all the dodgy/illegal funding he's been getting, and doesn't want to be pushed to explain it at all. But that's going to leave CB (and others) to hijack the 'narrative'. He's caught between a rock and a hard place. Yeehaw.

Burham's Makerfield result, so soon after Reform doing well in the locals there, might support your view.

He did a meet the people... except it was in a private location, 85 miles from Clacton with recogiseable actors.
