Outside the time limit for such investigations is not the same as "nothing found".

Essex police have followed the law on such offences, and this failed by falling outside of the time limit set down in election law.

That is only part of the story isn't it?
Whilst the police say the criminal matter is time barred, the Electoral Commission in relation to the complaint to them appear to say there is no evidence of any offences

The Electoral Commission said: “We have responded to Anna Turley MP’s correspondence, which raised questions about Reform UK’s spending at the 2024 general election. After carefully considering the information presented in the letter, we did not identify any expenditure relating to Mr Farage’s election campaign in Clacton that should have been declared in Reform UK’s national expenditure.”

Electoral Commission don't investigate, they hand the entire matter over to the police.

You had better tell the Electoral Commission that as they seem to say differently. I'm sure they will appreciate you telling them what they did as I'm sure you are better informed about the actions of the Electoral Commission than the Electoral Commission are. There are criminal offences and non crimial matters. The police only deal with crikinal issues. The Electoral Commission deal with the other matters,

Neither the police were interested, time limit and the electoral commission didnt find anything.

It was politically motivated

No need to tell them, they followed the rules as laid out in the law. All claims were passed to the police, which is probably why the Metropolitan Police were involved initially.
The police then pass the matter back to the relevant electoral services for investigation.

Are you really as stupid as you are trying to make yourself look.

There were allegations of a criminal nature which the police investigated and found they are time barred.
There were allegations of breaches of Electoral rules ( not criminal offences) which the Electoral Commission investigated and as they Commission state there was no evidence of any offences

Hence why the Electoral Commission made the statement they did which I have quoted twice in this exchange and which you seem to be saying is not the case and the electoral Commission did not do what they have said they did - ie investigated the complaint and found no evidence to support it.
hence why I suggest you tell the electoral Commission they are wrong and they did not do what they said they did.

I'm really not sure what point you are trying to make.

The police in the criminal investigation found there was no case to answer as the allegations were time barred.
The electoral commission in relation breaches of electoral rules ( not criminal offences) investigated and found no evidence of any such offences.

Do you understand that there are 2 matters here?
1. Allegations of criminal nature which went to the police who found there was no case to answer as the allegations are time barred
2. Allegations of non criminal breaches of electoral rules - which the Electoral Commission investigated and found no evidence of any breached. The Electoral Commission even helpfully issued a statement confirming their actions

Now are you still claiming that despite the Electoral Commission stating they did investigate the complaint ( no mention of the police), that the Electoral Commission are lying?

It is possible for there to be different investigations into different allegations or alleged offences arising out of the same facts
