Outside the time limit for such investigations is not the same as "nothing found".
Essex police have followed the law on such offences, and this failed by falling outside of the time limit set down in election law.
The Electoral Commission said: “We have responded to Anna Turley MP’s correspondence, which raised questions about Reform UK’s spending at the 2024 general election. After carefully considering the information presented in the letter, we did not identify any expenditure relating to Mr Farage’s election campaign in Clacton that should have been declared in Reform UK’s national expenditure.”
Electoral Commission don't investigate, they hand the entire matter over to the police.That is only part of the story isn't it?
Whilst the police say the criminal matter is time barred, the Electoral Commission in relation to the complaint to them appear to say there is no evidence of any offences

No need to tell them, they followed the rules as laid out in the law. All claims were passed to the police, which is probably why the Metropolitan Police were involved initially.You had better tell the Electoral Commission that as they seem to say differently. I'm sure they will appreciate you telling them what they did as I'm sure you are better informed about the actions of the Electoral Commission than the Electoral Commission are. There are criminal offences and non crimial matters. The police only deal with crikinal issues. The Electoral Commission deal with the other matters,
