That woman who spread the misinformation about the Southport suspect’s name and refugee status has been arrested by Cheshire Police “on suspicion of a number of offences”. 👏

We have a very arresting spreader of misinfo here too.
If there is a glut of arrests hitting their bank balance might suffice.

I doubt Starmer will send an extradition request for Elon Musk or J D Vance. Wishful thinking.

Reading around the chip
Is that being seriously proposed? :-/

Starmer's Army seems to have cracked down with great speed and ferocity using the current laws.

We've got yet another authoritarian government that's stuffed with clapped-out Blairites and is already flexing its muscles on "Law and Order", courts who are locking people up for 5 years for inconveniencing motorists or throwing orange paint, a PM who speaks with open contempt for climate justice activists, ignores young people even when they ask politely for a chat, and who has bulldozed what was left of democracy in his own party. And we've got a PLP stuffed with dislikeable briefcase weirdos parachuted with reduced majorities into seats they'd never heard of, plus a deranged cohort of embittered ex-MPs doing the media rounds, rolling around clutching their ankles and demanding red cards for everyone who asked them an unwelcome question during their shabby little campaigns.

Don't hold back!

Not saying any of that is actually wrong but at least we've moved to a more competent set of authoritarianists than Jenrick, Braverman etc,

SuperBlair - except for the charisma.

There is no sign of Starmer being off his rocker, and the discipline might well be needed to keep labour more centrist.
We might get used to 'Mogadon Man'.

This was her post according to Metro news:

'‘Ali Al-Shakati was the suspect, he was an asylum seeker who came to the UK by boat last year and was on an MI6 watch list. If this is true, then all hell is about to break loose.’

Who decides what is truth, misinformation, what is hateful?

No matter which side you are on, the end of open free speech is here

1984 has arrived in the UK

It's not about deciding, it's about what's glaringly obvious, this isn't some 1984 thing (which arrived long ago, but apparently you didn't notice).

Who decides?

Did you see all the newspapers fell into line just a day or so ago with almost the same headline. I've never seen that from both left and right wing papers

Governments will be able to set a narrative, what people are fed in information if they are allowed to clamp down on online speech.
