She posted that she wanted hotels housing asylum seekers to be set on fire. She may have deleted that tweet, but
'Her comments were viewed 310,000 times and reposted by 940 other X users'. There were attempts to light fires in hotel entrances, quite possibly as a result of her tweet.
That's how Xwitter works, as any user should know.

You can't possibly know that and we don't usually jail people on the basis of a connection of tenuous inspiration for the offences of others. These sentences do nothing to restore confidence in the judicial system, they simply bolster the view that it's a two tier system.

She got off lightly.

A man who copied & pasted her text into a tweet of his own, with the hashtag #standwithlucyconnolly, got 38 months.
